It's good to be back, and what better way to kick off the grand return of the Beer of the Week than with a selection from our latest travels: Melvin Brewing's Killer Bees American Blonde Ale.
Starting out in the city of Jackson, Wyoming as a Thai restaurant/microbrewery, the folks at Melvin Brewing expanded their operation to the small town of Alpine, Wyoming, about an hour south from their original location. Here, they established a full-fledged brewery and tap room, a must-stop for anyone passing through.

While they offer a variety of delicious beers, Killer Bees just might be their flagship offering, and for good reason too: it is fantastic.
Pouring a hazy, golden bronze with a thin head, you immediately get notes of a classic American blonde ale: bready, a little bit of citrus, and of course, honey. No flavor is too heavy, or too light, making this yet again a refreshing and easy-drinking beer. At 5.0% ABV, it doesn't hit you too hard either. Stop in for a pint at their taproom, at pretty much any bar in Jackson, Wyoming, or in cans at shops throughout Wyoming and Colorado. I give it an astounding 11/10 Nicolas Cage bee helmets. Cheers!
